Is the concept of Heaven as a perfect, unchanging realm a blissful paradise, or a form of eternal torment? Testimony suggests the traditional vision of Heaven might be a gross oversimplification, masking a far more complex reality.
Here’s what the witnesses are saying:
- The Boredom Paradox: A perfect, unchanging Heaven could induce insanity. Without conflict or challenge, existence would become an unbearable monotony. Fallen angels might exist because of sheer boredom and a need for stimulation.
- Transcending Human Desires: Heaven isn’t about fulfilling human desires, but transcending them. It’s a state beyond earthly understanding, rendering concepts like “entertainment” obsolete.
- Serving God’s Enjoyment: Heaven is centered on God’s enjoyment, not individual pleasure. Those seeking self-centered desires belong in the material realm (Samsara). True enjoyment comes from serving God.
- Inner States: Heaven and hell aren’t physical places but inner states of being. Some people seem to exist perpetually on “cloud 9,” while others are burdened by a constant sense of gravity and despair.
- Beyond Human Comprehension: We, as humans, cannot fully grasp Heaven because we are sinful and limited. Only with perfected bodies and minds can one truly comprehend the perfection of Heaven. Our resurrected spirits will transform into ascended forms, beyond our current understanding.
The Nature of Reality:
- Material vs. God’s Realm: Heaven and hell are both material. The material realm (Samsara) allows escape from the constant focus on serving God.
- Cycles of Existence: The material realm is a cycle of birth and death, where joy and sorrow are intertwined. Some believe that Samsara can always be made into something better, offering endless possibilities. However, others say Samsara is inherently limited, while God’s realm is unlimited and ever-increasing.
- Subjective Time: Time is subjective. The lifespan of the universe’s creator (311 trillion years) may feel like only 100 years to him. Each living being experiences its full lifespan as roughly 100 years, regardless of the actual duration.
The Trap of Self-Centered Visions:
Many religious concepts of Heaven are flawed because they focus on individual desires. True Heaven transcends such limitations.
Reality is limited, but the mind can create what is not, and that’s why the fun may never end.
Heaven isn’t a place of passive bliss, but an active state of devotion and transcendence. It is the ultimate expression of love and service to the divine.
